Neal was suspended March 13 after testing positive for the prescription drug Adderall. He'd been prescribed the drug, used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy, by a doctor and didn't realize it was on the NFL's banned substance list.
The NFL has suspended Neal without pay for the team's first four games of the 2012 regular season for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances.|||||||
In a statement, the NFL says Neal will be eligible to return to the Packers' active roster on the day after the team's fourth regular-season game of the 2012 season. Neal is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.

Neal hurt his left knee during a non-contact drill in training camp. Jarius Wynn, a sixth-round pick in 2009 who was waived and later re-signed last season, took Neal's place against New Orleans.
