Moore has signed a two-year contract to remain with the Miami Dolphins as a backup rather than testing free agency next week and pursuing a possible starting job.||||||| Moore was beaten out for Miami's No. 1 job last summer by rookie Ryan Tannehill and played in only two games off the bench. The five-year veteran started 12 games for the Dolphins in 2011 and had his best season, throwing for 2,497 yards and 16 touchdowns with nine interceptions.

Though Ryan Tannehill is practicing on a limited basis after leaving Sunday's victory over the New York Jets in the first quarter with left knee and thigh injuries, Moore took the snaps with the starters at the beginning of team drills.||||||| Moore went 11 for 19 against the Jets for 131 yards and a score.

David Garrard is listed as the first-team quarterback on the Miami Dolphins' first depth chart, ahead of Matt Moore and first-round pick Ryan Tannehill as they try to win the starting job.||||||| First-year coach Joe Philbin called the quarterback battle "a fluid situation" and said there was no guarantee Garrard would get the start in Friday's preseason opener against Tampa Bay. Moore started the last 12 games for Miami (No. 27 in the AP Pro32) in 2011 and went 6-3 over the last nine weeks, compiling an impressive 97.8 passer rating during that span.

The Miami Dolphins have quarterback Moore for their game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.||||||| Moore was listed as questionable coming in after being limited in practice this week because of a concussion and neck injury sustained in a loss to Philadelphia last weekend. Moore ranks 12th in the NFL in passing. In nine starts this year he has 10 touchdown passes and five interceptions.

Moore has left his team's game against Philadelphia on Sunday after being shaken up.||||||| Moore was hit in the back as he threw an incomplete pass late in the third quarter Sunday. He was slow to rise but eventually walked off the field and was replaced by J.P. Losman.
