The Bears were looking for a tight end who can catch and block, and they addressed one of their biggest needs by bringing in Bennett. Bennett spent his first four seasons in Dallas before signing a one-year $2.5 million contract with the Giants last March. He had career highs with 55 receptions, 626 yards and five touchdowns.
Bennett broke the fall of a man who fell over a railing trying to grab a glove the player was handing to a child after Sunday night's win over the Green Bay Packers. The fan was quickly surrounded by New Jersey state troopers and led away. He did not appear to be hurt in the fall from the lowest level of seating at MetLife Stadium, a distance of about 10 feet or less.|||||||

This isn't the first time Bennett has helped someone at a game. He said he rescued a ball boy at a Texas A&M game who was knocked down when the crowd rushed the court.
