Listed at 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds, Anderson has 35-1/2 sacks in six seasons, including 10 last year with the New England Patriots. Selected in the fifth-round of the 2006 draft by Chicago, Anderson spent four-plus seasons with the Bears before finishing the 2010 season playing with Williams in Houston.

Anderson was cut by Chicago on Tuesday. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound lineman had 12 sacks as a rookie in 2006, helping the Bears reach the Super Bowl. He had only nine sacks over the next three seasons and has none this year. Houston has been looking for a defensive end to complement All-Pro Mario Williams, who has five of the team's nine sacks this season.

Anderson, a fifth-round pick in 2006, was a pass-rushing sensation in his first season but never developed into the player the Bears expected after that fast beginning.

Anderson has 130 tackles and 21.5 sacks in four years but has struggled since an eye-opening rookie season in 2006. He had 12 sacks that year, the most by a Bears rookie and the most by a Chicago player since Richard Dent's 13.5 in 1993, while helping Chicago reach the Super Bowl.
