Coach Chan Gailey provided the update Wednesday, saying he expects Williams to return to practice next week once the Bills return from their bye weekend off. Gailey, was otherwise, very short on specifics in sharing any other details regarding the status of the NFL's highest-paid defensive player. Williams signed a six-year, $100 million contract with Buffalo in March.

Savino is a Buffalo-based attorney representing 53 people swindled out of more than $3 million by Kenneth Bernas, a former lawyer who was convicted in 2010 of larceny and identity theft. Bernas is serving a 2 1/3- to seven-year jail sentence and used some of the money he stole to build the 9,000-plus square-foot mansion in 2005. The Buffalo News first reported Williams' purchase this week.
