Thomas is practicing with the Denver Broncos for the first time since injuring his right pectoral muscle on Aug. 15.|||||||
Thomas, who suffered a setback earlier this month when he strained a groin while rehabbing from his initial injury, was limited in the 20 minutes of practice that were open to the media. Thomas was hurt within five minutes of free agent nose tackle Ty Warren going down with a torn triceps during a drill during training camp. Warren underwent surgery and was placed on I.R. for the second straight season.
Thomas is suffering from a strained pectoral muscle. He won't be back on the field anytime soon.|||||||
Thomas' chest muscle wasn't completely torn off the bone like Elvis Dumervil's was when he suffered a season-ending injury early in last summer's training camp. So, the Broncos are hoping he'll be ready to play by the time their season starts Sept. 12.
Thomas was arrested after police said they found cocaine and a handgun in a pickup truck during a traffic stop in north Florida.|||||||
Thomas, of Aurora, Colo., and the truck's driver were arrested early Saturday after police received a call from the Florida Highway Patrol asking them to look for the pickup truck for a possible impaired driver. Thomas, drafted in the fourth round last April, just finished his rookie season with the Broncos and had 20 tackles in 16 games.
