Jenkins has apparently hurt his right knee while tackling Tampa Bay running back LaGarrette Blount on the team's first defensive series Sunday. Blount had a 16-yard gain when he tried to go through Jenkins' tackle along the sideline.|||||||
Jenkins struggled to get up and then went back down while trainers examined him before finally walking off the field on his own. Jenkins then paced around flexing the knee, but did not return with Saints starters on the next defensive series as Darren Sharper stepped in for him. Saints officials did not immediately update Jenkins' condition.

Jenkins started 45 games in a four-year career at Ohio State that earned him first-team All-America honors and the Jim Thorpe Award as a senior. He had 11 career interceptions, returning two for touchdowns.
