Hamilton has been cut by the New Orleans Saints. Hamilton, a second-year player, first signed with the Saints as a free agent following the 2008 NFL draft.|||||||
He spent nearly all of his rookie season on the club's practice squad before playing an expanded role in the 2009 season, playing in nine games with one start and rushing for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Hamilton was also a key special teams player. Hamilton, 25, suffered a torn ACL during a combined practice in New England earlier this week.

Coach Sean Payton said Wednesday that Hamilton was hurt while planting his foot. The third-string running back was scheduled for X-rays.
