Payne suffered a torn medial-collateral ligament in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season, the Seattle Times reports.|||||||
Payne started at split end for Seattle on Sunday and was injured after catching his first pass of the game when he was hit by safety Dashon Goldson.
Payne left in the first quarter of Sunday's game against San Francisco after getting a hit to his right knee on his only reception.|||||||
Coach Mike Holmgren said Payne, who was hurt during the second series of the game, had a torn knee ligament. It was the fifth injury to a Seattle wide receiver already this season.
