We'll see where it goes from today," said Mankins, who injured his ankle in the second half of New England's victory over Buffalo on Nov. 11 and has missed the last three games. Neither the Patriots nor Mankins' agent, Frank Bauer, responded to requests for comment. Earlier Wednesday, Kraft said Mankins, entering his seventh season, probably would be signed soon, hopefully to be a Patriot for the rest of his career. Mankins played the last nine regular-season games and one playoff game last season and was chosen for the Pro Bowl. The Patriots made him their franchise player in February.
