Tatupu will miss the season with a pectoral injury.||||||| Tatupu signed a two-year deal with the Falcons as a free agent. He did not play in 2011 following his release from the Seattle Seahawks before the season. Tatupu was a three-time Pro Bowl pick with Seattle.

The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with former Pro Bowl linebacker Lofa Tatupu. The team announced the deal Saturday. No terms were released.||||||| Tatupu was a second-round pick by Seattle in 2005 and spent six seasons with the Seahawks. He was named to the NFC Pro Bowl team three straight years from 2005-07 and has started all 84 games he's played in his career. The 29-year-old was released last summer by Seattle after failing to reach agreement on a restructured deal. He didn't play in 2011.

Tatupu and Seattle have have "mutually parted ways" after the Seahawks defensive captain reportedly declined to restructure his contract. He was scheduled to make $4.35 million in base salary in 2011.||||||| Tatupu has struggled with injuries the past few years, including a torn pectoral muscle that cost him most of the 2009 season. He had surgery on both knees following last season.

Tatupu underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on both knees.||||||| Tatupu missed several practices throughout the season due to his ailing knees, but they never forced him to miss a game. Tatupu started all 16 regular season games and both playoff games for the NFC West champions. Tatupu finished the regular season with 88 tackles, tied for second on the team. He also had a sack, a pair of forced fumbles and one interception that was returned for a touchdown.

Tatupu is active for the Seattle Seahawks' divisional playoff game against the Chicago Bears and expected to start.||||||| Tatupu was questionable after suffering a concussion in the fourth quarter of last Saturday's 41-36 upset of New Orleans on a hard collision with the Saints' Julius Jones. He went through a practice without helmets or pads on Friday and got medical clearance in time for Sunday's game.
