Foote started for the Steelers when they won the Super Bowl during the 2004 and 2008 seasons, but chose to sign with his hometown Lions last year because he knew the Steelers planned to make Lawrence Timmons a starter. Foote knows the Steelers' system and provides flexibility at a position which features 35-year-old James Farrior.
