A person with knowledge of the decisions says the Dallas Cowboys have agreed to deals with quarterback Kyle Orton and cornerback Brandon Carr. The person spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the team had not yet announced Wednesday's deals.|||||||
Orton, who finished last season in Kansas City after being released by Denver, has agreed to a three-year deal to be Tony Romo's backup. Jon Kitna, Romo's primary backup the last two years, retired after last season.
Orton got his revenge in leading the Kansas City Chiefs over the Broncos 7-3 on Sunday. He was 15 of 29 for 180 yards and no turnovers.|||||||

The Chiefs were forced to turn to Palko after Matt Cassel suffered a season-ending injury to his throwing hand, and the results so far haven't been good. Palko threw three interceptions in each of his first two starts and committed seven turnovers in all during that stretch.
