Coach Tom Cable put off making a decision for a second straight day on who to start after all three practiced in some fashion Thursday. Boller, who started four games for St. Louis in 2009 after four years as a starter in Baltimore, took the initial snaps in practice with Oakland's first-team offense and alternated reps with Jason Campbell.
Boller will remain the Oakland Raiders' primary backup this week while newly acquired Colt Brennan is expected to finally make his debut.|||||||
Boller played nearly three quarters in Oakland's 17-7 win over Dallas last week after replacing starter Jason Campbell early in the second quarter. The former Cal star, who was buried on the depth chart when he signed with the Raiders in April, directed two fourth-quarter scoring drives against the Cowboys.

The team announced the deal with the former first-round pick for Baltimore on Thursday. Boller will be added to the quarterback mix with former No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell, Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye. Boller never lived up to the billing after being drafted 19th overall by Baltimore in 2003. The former Cal star has made 46 starts in his career, throwing 50 interceptions and only 48 touchdown passes. His career passer rating is 70.6.

Rookie Keith Null started the last two games - the first when Boller was sidelined by a thigh injury, and the second after Boller had flulike symptoms for several days. Boller returned to practice this week, but Spagnuolo has yet to tip his hand.
