Lichtensteiger underwent arthroscopic surgery Monday to remove loose particles from his right knee and is expected to be out until the Sept. 9 season opener at New Orleans.||||||| Lichtensteiger missed the final 11 games of 2011 with a torn ACL and MCL in the same knee. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said those ligaments are fine. Maurice Hurt, who started the final eight games at left guard last season, and third-round draft pick Josh LeRibeus will split time while Lichtensteiger heals.

Lichtensteiger has signed his one-year, $1.26 million restricted free agent tender to remain with the Washington Redskins.||||||| Lichtensteiger returns for his third season in Washington. He started the first five games at left guard last season before going on injured reserve with torn ligaments in his right knee.
