Barnes has spent the past four seasons with the Raiders. He has played 47 games and started 30 over that span. He has started 25 games at right tackle the past two years, missing seven games in 2012 with a groin injury.

The team made the announcement on Thursday, a day after Barnes' agent said the two sides had agreed on a contract that could pay Barnes up to $2 million this season. After spending most of his first two years with the Raiders as a reserve, Barnes started all 16 games at right tackle last year.

Barnes, who signed a one-year contract with the Raiders in March, was injured when offensive lineman James Marten blocked defensive end Ryan Boschetti into the back of Barnes' left leg during a team scrimmage Tuesday.
