Fox played the past four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs after being drafted in the third round in 2004. He's expected to be a backup linebacker and play on special teams, the same role he filled for the Chiefs.
According to Chiefs head coach Dick Vermeil, tests have revealed that Fox has a possible ligament tear in his right knee. The linebacker, who suffered the injury when he slipped during Sunday night's meeting with the Oakland Raiders, is seeking a second opinion this week to determine if surgery is necessary. He is not expected to be ready for the Chiefs' next game and might be sidelined for an extended period.|||||||
Vermeil indicated that Kris Griffin and Rich Scanlon will see more time on defense in Fox' absence. Through two games this season, Fox has three tackles.
