The Tennessee Titans have agreed to one-year contracts with Walter and offensive lineman Chris Spencer. The Titans announced the deals Monday.|||||||
General manager Ruston Webster says both players are established veterans with plenty of starting experience who can help add to competition with the Titans. Walter has started 93 of his 152 NFL games in his 10 seasons, and he spent the past seven years with the Titans' AFC South rival Houston. He had 41 catches for 518 yards and two touchdowns last season.
The Houston Texans released Walker on Tuesday as free agency opened.|||||||
The 31-year-old Walter signed with the Texans in March 2006 after playing his first three NFL seasons in Cincinnati. Walter caught 41 passes for 518 yards and two touchdowns in 2012 and was the Texans' third-leading receiver. Walter was due to make $2 million in base salary in 2013. The move leaves the Texans with three receivers on the roster to fill out the depth chart behind All Pro Andre Johnson - Keshawn Martin, Lestar Jean and DeVier Posey.
Walter will likely miss one or two games with a collarbone injury, according to the Houston Chronicle.|||||||

Walter started 14 games opposite Andre Johnson last season and had 53 receptions for 611 yards and two touchdowns. He joined the Texans in 2006 and has 195 receptions for 2,470 yards and 15 touchdowns since arriving in Houston. Walter, who has started 45 games in the last three seasons, signed with the Texans after three seasons in Cincinnati.
Walter was inactive for Sunday's opener against the New York Jets because of a hamstring injury.|||||||
Walter injured a hamstring in a preseason game against the Vikings on Aug. 31 and hasn't practiced since. The Texans said he would be a game-time decision for Sunday's opener. Walter caught 60 passes for 899 yards and eight touchdowns for the Texans in 2008. He started all 16 games for the first time in his career.
