Von Miller and Kevin Vickerson are appealing fines they said they received from the NFL for hits on Carolina quarterback Cam Newton last weekend.||||||| Vickerson's $15,000 fine was for a horse collar tackle that he insists was more of a swipe. Vickerson said he hopes to at least have his fine reduced.

The Seattle Seahawks acquired Vickerson, running back LenDale Whtie and two draft picks from the Tennessee Titans in exchange for one of their fourth-round selectiosn and another in the sixth round.||||||| The 6-foot-5, 305-pound defensive tackle played a career-high 13 games and had 20 tackles. He has 1.5 sacks in his career - all in 2008.

Vickerson for four games without pay starting Friday for violating the league's policy on anabolic steroids and related substances.||||||| Vickerson's suspension will keep him out the rest of the regular season and started Friday with him not at practice. He will miss Sunday's game with Cleveland (4-8). He will be eligible to return on Dec. 29, a day after the Titans (11-1) conclude the regular season at Indianapolis.
