The Giants on Monday announced Boothe has re-signed after spending time on the free agent market. Contract terms were not immediately available.|||||||
The signing comes a little less than a month after left tackle Will Beatty signed a new five-year contract to stay with the Giants. Since the offseason ended, center David Baas restructured his contract to give the team more cap space. Right guard Chris and right tackle David Diehl are also under contract. The versatile Boothe started all 16 games at left guard last season, and the past 22 games overall.

The Giants announced on Friday that Boothe was injured earlier this week while working out and that he will have surgery next week.
Boothe is slated to start at guard for Oakland on Sunday after the rookie from Cornell played most of a Week 2 loss to Baltimore. Boothe relieved fellow rookie Paul McQuistan during that 28-6 loss and appears to have solidified his starting spot this week.|||||||
Boothe, a sixth-round pick from Cornell, will need to help an anemic Raiders rushing offense that is averaging only 2.7 yards per carry. Oakland has also allowed 15 sacks, one of the reasons it benched McQuistan in favor of Boothe.
