The Cleveland Browns signed Barnes to a one-year contract. Barnes has played in 31 career NFL games for Washington and Detroit.||||||| He was drafted by the Redskins in the third round in 2009 and played in 15 games. In 2011, he recorded a career-high 26 tackles and two interceptions in 15 games. He was traded to the Lions last year and played in two games before he was waived on Sept. 18.

The Detroit Lions have released cornerback Kevin Barnes. The team announced the move Tuesday.||||||| Barnes was with the Lions for the first two games of the season but didn't make a tackle. Detroit has been having problems with its secondary because of injuries to Chris Houston and Louis Delmas.

Barnes says he's been traded to the Detroit Lions.||||||| Barnes said he was informed early Monday afternoon that he was on his way to Detroit. He said he didn't know any other details about the deal. Barnes was a third-round pick by the Redskins in 2009. He's played in 29 games with three starts over three seasons and has three career interceptions.

The Redskins signed Barnes, a third-round draft pick, to a four-year deal with a $782,500 bonus.||||||| Barnes is a cornerback who played at Maryland and was the 80th overall pick in April. He posted the highest score (41) on the Wonderlic logic-thinking test given to prospects at this year's NFL Combine and is also well-known for a big hit that became an Internet sensation. Barnes leveled California's Jahvid Best last season, leaving Best on the ground several minutes before the running back vomited.
