The Atlanta Falcons placed Hayden and linebacker Mike Peterson on injured reserve Tuesday night, ending the season for both veteran players.|||||||
Hayden, a nickel back, played in eight games, but not since helping the Falcons beat Tennessee in Week 11. A second-round draft pick by Indianapolis in 2005, Hayden spent six years with the Colts. He had two interceptions and 22 solo tackles this season.
Hayden is inactive for Saturday night's playoff game against the New York Jets after being placed on injured reserve with a neck injury.|||||||
Hayden, who signed a five-year, $43 million deal in 2009, last played Nov. 28 against San Diego. Though he missed five games, he still ranked fourth on the team with 61 tackles. He had two interceptions.
