The 26-year-old former seventh-round draft choice caught 21 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns last season before going on injured reserve with a foot injury. In four NFL seasons, he has 69 receptions for 714 yards and four touchdowns. He has also returned three punts for touchdowns, including a franchise-record 94-yarder against Miami in the 2010 season.

Edelman was on crutches with a walking boot on his right foot after the Patriots' 23-16 win at the Miami Dolphins last Sunday. The team's announcement Tuesday did not specify the nature of the injury. Edelman has five touchdowns this season - three on receptions, one on a punt return and one on a fumble recovery.
Prosecutors have dropped an indecent assault and battery charge against Edelman, saying evidence suggests he just briefly grabbed the hand of a woman who accused him of groping her. The 25-year-old Edelman was accused of grabbing the woman's crotch during a Halloween party at a Boston nightclub.|||||||
On Thursday, prosecutors said they decided to drop the charge after reviewing video surveillance and witness statements and interviewing the woman several times. They said video indicates Edelman had just "fleeting" contact with the woman, and didn't commit a crime.
Edelman has been released on personal recognizance after a brief court appearance on a charge of indecent assault and battery on a woman.|||||||
A criminal complaint application filed Tuesday accuses the 25-year-old Edelman of groping a woman at a Boston nightclub. Edelman and his attorney declined to comment after the hearing. He was ordered not to return to the Storyville nightclub or have any contact with the accuser or witnesses. Police say Edelman was arrested at about 1:30 a.m. outside the club and later released on bail. The complaint says he denied the allegations.
Edelman had six catches for 44 yards and both New England touchdowns as the Patriots lost 33-14 to Baltimore in a wild card game Sunday.|||||||
Edelman could have some fantasy value in 2010, especially if Wes Welker has trouble returning from major knee surgery before the start of the season.
