Losman has signed with the Miami Dolphins, who placed quarterback Sage Rosenfels on the reserve-non-football illness list. The only other quarterback on Miami's roster is starter Matt Moore.||||||| Losman hasn't completed a pass since 2008, when he was in his fifth season with Buffalo. A former first-round draft choice, Losman started 33 games for the Bills and has 33 career touchdown passes and 34 interceptions.A blood disorder sent Rosenfels to the hospital in August, and in a statement Tuesday, he said he hasn't fully recovered and needs more time to rest.

Losman and the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a $630,000, one-year contract||||||| New coach Pete Carroll this week reiterated how comfortable he was with Matt Hasselbeck as his starting quarterback but added he wanted Charlie Whitehurst to challenge for the job. Now, for depth, there's the 29-year-old Losman. He threw one pass for Oakland last season after five years with the Bills plus time in the United Football League.

Losman will likely make his second straight start for injured starter Trent Edwards this Sunday at the New York Jets.||||||| Edwards, who's listed as doubtful, missed practice all this week because of a lingering groin injury sustained in the first half of Buffalo's loss to San Francisco on Nov. 30. Losman was ineffective and inconsistent last week in the Bills' 16-3 loss to Miami in Toronto, completing 13 of 27 passes for 123 yards. He also threw a costly interception in the third quarter on a first-down play from the Dolphins 3.

Losman replaced injured Trent Edwards in the first quarter of the Bills' 41-17 loss to Arizona on Sunday and went 15-for-21 for 220 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also ran for a TD.||||||| Losman, Buffalo's first-string quarterback when healthy over the last three seasons, said he's prepared to take over the offense in case Edwards misses more time with the concussion he suffered on a hit from Arizona's Adrian Wilson. The Bills went 2-5 with Losman as the starter last season, and Losman was 108-for-170 with three TD passes and six interceptions in those games.

Losman is expected to start for the Bills on Sunday night in their preseason matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.||||||| Losman will take the snaps after starting quarterback Trent Edwards missed his third straight practice Friday since knocking knees in a collision with running back Marshawn Lynch on Tuesday night. Losman completed 111 passes and totaled four touchdowns and 1,204 yards, while starting seven of eight games for the Bills in 2007.
