Black has been suspended without pay for four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing substances. The league announced Monday that Black's suspension begins immediately and will include playoff games if the Redskins advance that far.|||||||
Black become the sixth Redskins player suspended by the league in less than two seasons for drugs-related issues, following Phillip Buchanon, Trent Williams and Fred Davis last year and Tanard Jackson and Cedric Griffin this year. The 32-year-old Black had to rapidly gain weight when the Redskins signed him this summer after he spent a year out of football. He was a seldom-used backup until Sunday, when he filled in at right tackle for Tyler Polumbus.
