The Titans waived Babineaux on Tuesday.||||||| Babineaux had signed a two-year deal in March 2012 after joining the Titans just after the NFL lockout ended for the 2011 season. The safety played in all 16 games but started only 12. He was due to earn $1.6 million this season but became expendable when the Titans signed George Wilson last month.

Babineaux has been re-signed by the Seahawks.||||||| Babineaux rejoined the Seahawks on Tuesday, a day after he was waived by the team. To make room on the 53-man roster, the Seahawks waived defensive tackle Craig Terrill. Babineaux has spent his entire career with the Seahawks. He started all 16 games last season but was beaten out for a starting job in training camp by rookie Earl Thomas.

Babineaux was suspended Saturday by the NFL for next week's season opener. Babineaux was fined a second game check for violating the league's substance abuse policy.||||||| Babineaux is the team's nickel back, who had 47 tackles and one interception last season.

Babineaux signed a five-year extension with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday opting not to test free agency in the offseason.||||||| Babineaux has made six tackles in Seattle's first two games this season. Babineaux, nicknamed ``Big Play Babs'' by his teammates, could have become an unrestricted free agent after the 2007 season, but will now remain in a Seahawks uniform through the 2012 season.

Babineaux will miss the next three to four weeks of training camp after injuring his right knee on the first day of practice.||||||| Coach Mike Holmgren said Monday that a scan on Babineaux's knee showed a bone bruise, and the player teammates call "Big Play Babs" wouldn't miss significant time.
