Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said that backup inside linebacker Jonathan Goff is out for the year after tearing his right ACL during practice on July 28.||||||| Goff missed all of 2011 with the same injury while with the New York Giants.

Goff will miss the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.||||||| Goff, in his fourth season with the Giants out of Vanderbilt, suffered the injury during Monday's practice. He had 80 tackles and one sack last season, as the Giants finished 10-6.

Giants rookie Goff will be sidelined indefinitely with a back injury, coach Tom Coughlin said Saturday.||||||| The fifth-round draft pick from Vanderbilt broke part of a vertebra in his lower back in the second quarter of the preseason opener against the Detroit Lions on Thursday night. The team has not decided whether to place Goff on injured reserve or give him more time to recover. If he is placed on injured reserve, he cannot play or practice with the team.
