The 40-year-old Kasay hit a 23-yarder in the first quarter Sunday against Tampa Bay to join an exclusive list that includes all-time leader Morten Andersen, who has 565 field goals. Gary Anderson, John Carney, Matt Stover, Jason Elam and Jason Hanson are the other kickers with more than 400 field goals. Kasay is the final member of expansion Carolina's original team in 1995. He entered the game needing seven points to move into the top 10 in NFL scoring.
Kasay kicked four long field goals, including the game-winner, in Sunday's 26-24 win over Tampa Bay. He kicked field goals of 51, 50 and 49 yards before the 46-yarder to win the game with two seconds remaining. That's an NFL record: four FGs of 46-plus yards in one game.|||||||
