Houston cut Beck and re-signed safety Troy Nolan.||||||| The 31-year-old Beck signed with Houston in May after he was cut by Washington. He beat out undrafted free agent Case Keenum for the No. 3 spot behind Matt Schaub and T.J. Yates.

The Texans have signed Beck.||||||| Beck spent the last two years with the Washington Redskins. He appeared four games with three starts last season, throwing for 858 yards and two touchdowns with four interceptions. Beck will join T.J. Yates and rookie Case Keenum in the competition to be Matt Schaub's backup.

Beck is the new starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins. Coach Mike Shanahan informed his team Wednesday that Beck will get the nod for this week's game against the Carolina Panthers.||||||| Beck replaces Rex Grossman, who threw four interceptions and was benched after three quarters during Sunday's 20-13 loss to Philadelphia. Beck will be making his first start since 2007, when he was a rookie with Miami. Beck also becomes the 21st quarterback to start a game for Redskins in the last 19 seasons.

Beck gave the Redskins a spark after replacing an awful Rex Grossman on Sunday in a 20-13 loss to Philadelphia.||||||| Beck was 8 for 15 for 117 yards and a rushing TD. He could get the nod next week at Carolina over Grossman, whose 66.5 passer rating is the worst among healthy starters.

Beck replaced Rex Grossman at quarterback for the Washington Redskins against the Philadelphia Eagles.||||||| It was Beck's first regular-season action since 2007, when he was with the Miami Dolphins. He came on to begin the fourth quarter Sunday after Washington's previous drive ended with Grossman's fourth interception of the game. After that turnover, fans started chanting, "We want Beck!" as the backup QB warmed up on the sideline.
