The Cardinals have placed Porter on injured reserve, ending the season for the four-time Pro Bowler.||||||| Porter has missed eight games with a knee injury. The 34-year-old former Pittsburgh Steelers star is two sacks shy of 100 for his career. He agreed to take a pay cut, from $5.75 million to $1.75 million to return to the Cardinals for a second season this year.

Kern County prosecutors say no charges will be filed against Porter in connection with his recent arrest on suspicion of DUI and resisting arrest.||||||| Prosecutor Mark Pafford told The Bakersfield Californian that the district attorney's office does not believe there's a reasonable likelihood that a jury would find Porter guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Authorities say Porter has been arrested in Bakersfield on suspicion of drunken driving and accused of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest. The California Highway Patrol says the 33-year-old player was confronted by officers early Saturday in a fast-food parking lot.||||||| Porter refused to provide his driver's license and began to roll up his window when asked to leave the car. Police say that when an officer reached to unlock the door Porter slapped the officer's hand. Porter eventually got out and complied with orders, placing his hands behind his back. He and a passenger were arrested. The 11-year veteran recently signed with the Arizona Cardinals.

Porter agreed to a three-year contract Friday with the Arizona Cardinals.||||||| Porter, an 11-year NFL veteran and four-time Pro Bowler, spent the past three seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He played the first eight years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. With 92 career sacks, Porter trails only Jason Taylor (127 1/2) in sacks among active players. Porter has 12 career interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, 23 forced fumbles and nine fumble recoveries with two returned for TDs.
