Webb, who hadn't thrown a pass all season, was sacked three times and off target all night in Saturday's loss to the Packers in which he was 11 of 30 for 180 yards with a TD and an interception.|||||||
Webb, pressed into service because of Christian Ponder's triceps injury, recorded his only highlight on a 50-yard scoring pass to Michael Jenkins late in the fourth quarter.
Webb will start at quarterback for the Vikings with Christian Ponder inactive for Minnesota's wild-card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers.|||||||
Ponder's participation in practice this week was limited and Webb took many of the turns with the first team offense. Ponder was listed as questionable on the injury report, though, and he took only about a dozen soft, short throws in early warm-ups.

Webb has been fined $5,000 by the NFL for a "major" facemask penalty he committed during a run in Minnesota's last game against Philadelphia. League spokesman Randall Liu confirmed the punishment Friday.|||||||
Webb was whistled near the end of the third quarter Tuesday night when he grabbed Eagles linebacker Jamar Chaney's facemask and pulled it down while reaching the first-down marker at the end of a third-and-7 scramble. The 15-yard penalty wiped out the gain, and the Vikings had to punt one play later. Webb could start Sunday's game at NFC North rival Detroit.
