Kennedy was the 12th overall draft choice by St. Louis in 2003 and bounced around to Chicago and Jacksonville before finding a home in Minnesota. He has emerged as a valued backup to aging starter Pat Williams. He started one game in 2009 and had a career-best nine tackles in that game. Kennedy tied his career high with three sacks last season. The unrestricted free agent also visited the Buffalo Bills this offseason.
Kennedy has re-signed with the Minnesota Vikings, providing the team with insurance at defensive tackle. Terms of the deal announced Wednesday were not disclosed.|||||||
After starting tackles Kevin Williams and Pat Williams were initially suspended for four games in early December due to a controversial diuretic pill, Kennedy was signed to fill the void. Kennedy, a first-round draft pick by St. Louis in 2003 out of Penn State, has had a disappointing NFL career. He has five sacks in 64 career games.

Kennedy, a defensive tackle, has 152 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 56 games. He started 16 games for the Rams in 2006 and finished with career-high 55 tackles.
The Denver Broncos acquired Kennedy on Friday from the St. Louis Rams in exchange for an undisclosed 2008 draft pick.|||||||
Kennedy is the second 300-pound-plus lineman acquired this week by the Broncos, who signed 345-pound defensive tackle Sam Adams on Monday. Kennedy, listed at 320 pounds, has 149 tackles (76 solo), four sacks, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 53 career regular-season games. He has 30 career starts, including all 16 games with the Rams last year, when he had a career-best 55 tackles (32 solo).
Kennedy broke his right hand in the first quarter of an 18-10 victory against Denver on Sept. 10. The Rams' starting defensive tackle, though, played the rest of the game wearing a cast.|||||||
