The future is murky for Clausen with Carolina possibly looking to take Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 pick in this year's draft. Clausen failed to compile more than 195 yards in his 13 games this season and finished with the worst rating among the league's starters (58.4). Clausen had three TDs and nine interceptions as the Panthers were 1-12 when he played this season.
Clausen completed 10 of 23 passes for 72 yards and one interception as the Panthers were crushed by the Steelers 27-3 on Thursday night. He was sacked four times.|||||||

Clausen, the rookie whose introduction to the NFL has been rough, extended his streak of passes without a TD to 193. He apologized to linebacker Jon Beason for his play after the game, drawing the wrath of receiver Steve Smith, who had another quiet day. "If you're going to apologize, you know, you should apologize to the people in the huddle with you," Smith said. "He has a lot to learn. He ain't at Notre Dame anymore that's for sure."
