Simpson wasn't active for last week's game against Washington due to a back issue that caused numbness in one of his legs and limited him the previous week.||||||| Simpson says every time he is deactivated from a game it costs him $60,000 in bonus money. The Vikings built that clause into his contract because the former Cincinnati Bengal was coming off a drug arrest which eventually resulted in a three-game suspension to start the season.

Simpson played in parts of Minnesota's 30-7 win, but he didn't catch any passes. He had trouble pushing off because of the injury, which Frazier said could also be connected to his back. Frazier said Simpson was "alarmed" by his condition but that the Vikings don't believe he's facing a long-term absence.
