Agent Mike McCartney says Wednesday on Twitter that he's "excited for Jason Jones to be in Honolulu Blue" after agreeing to a deal with the Lions. Terms are not immediately available. Jones, who is from the Detroit area, played 12 games with the Seattle Seahawks last season.
Jones is inactive against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday with an ankle injury.|||||||
Jones has been unable to practice all week after suffering the injury against the San Francisco 49ers last Thursday night. Jones has 2 1/2 sacks on the season primarily as a situational pass rusher. Rookie Greg Scruggs will pick up the additional workload for Seattle. Scruggs earned his first career sack last week against the 49ers.
Jones has hurt his right knee on the Redskins' opening series of the game, and his return is questionable.|||||||
Jones was chasing Donovan McNabb near the goal line on Washington's second play when he came up limping. Jones made it to the sideline where he was tended to by trainers for several minutes. He then walked to the locker room before returning to the sideline where he was staying loose on a stationary bicycle.

He was ejected from the game after an official said he threw a punch on the Texans' sideline during the fourth quarter. Jones denied throwing a punch, and coach Jeff Fisher said a day later he could not see a punch thrown from the coach's film. Jones said he didn't know what to expect because he had not been fined before. He had not decided yet if he will appeal.
