Agent Mike McCartney says Wednesday on Twitter that he's "excited for Jason Jones to be in Honolulu Blue" after agreeing to a deal with the Lions. Terms are not immediately available. Jones, who is from the Detroit area, played 12 games with the Seattle Seahawks last season.

Jones has been unable to practice all week after suffering the injury against the San Francisco 49ers last Thursday night. Jones has 2 1/2 sacks on the season primarily as a situational pass rusher. He was ejected from the game after an official said he threw a punch on the Texans' sideline during the fourth quarter. Jones denied throwing a punch, and coach Jeff Fisher said a day later he could not see a punch thrown from the coach's film. Jones said he didn't know what to expect because he had not been fined before. He had not decided yet if he will appeal.
