The Browns signed Campbell to a two-year contract on Tuesday, bringing him to provide competition for fellow quarterback Brandon Weeden.|||||||
A first round pick by the Redskins in 2005, Campbell has started 77 games and thrown 76 touchdown passes in eight seasons. Weeden's starting spot might not be completely assured after an up-and-down rookie season.
Campbell will undergo surgery on his broken collarbone and says he could be back before the end of the season.|||||||
Campbell said he will have the operation on Monday and that if everything goes right he could be back in six weeks. Campbell got injured late in the first half of Oakland's 24-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday when he landed hard on his shoulder at the end of a scramble.
