The St. Louis Rams released Brown.|||||||
The 28-year-old Brown lost his starting center job midway through the season and finished the season starting at guard.
The St. Louis Rams made Brown the highest-paid center in the NFL on Saturday, signing the former Ravens lineman to a five-year, $37.5 million deal - including $20 million guaranteed.|||||||
The Rams moved quickly to lock up the 6-foot-3, 320-pound Brown, who was considered the top interior lineman in free agency. Brown promised to do his part to lead the Rams back to prominence, comparing the Rams' situation to that of the Ravens, who made it to the AFC championship game last season a year after going 5-11. Brown moved to center last year after starting at left tackle and left guard the previous two seasons.
Brown will start at left guard Monday against the Broncos in place of Edwin Mulitalo, who was placed on injured reserve Tuesday following surgery to repair his torn right triceps tendon.|||||||
Brown, last year's fourth-round draft pick from North Carolina, has played in 10 career games with just one start. The Ravens also signed offensive guard Ikechuku Ndukwe to their active roster.
