The Baltimore Ravens have signed former New England Patriots safety James Ihedigbo. The 28-year-old made the announcement Sunday on his personal Twitter page.|||||||
Ihedigbo started 12 games last year for the Patriots in 2011. He had 69 tackles and one pass deflection. After going undrafted in 2007, Ihedigbo signed with the New York Jets and spent his first four NFL seasons there. After playing with New England in 2011, he was re-signed this past June before being released this past Friday. Over his career, Ihedigbo has tallied 82 tackles. He's expected to play initially on special teams.
Ihedigbo will not play Sunday as the Jets play host to the Miami Dolphins (6-6) because of an injured right leg.|||||||
Ihedigbo did not practice all week after suffering a high ankle sprain and injury to the medial collateral ligament in the knee in the Jets' 45-3 loss to New England on Monday night.

Ihedigbo was blocking on the opening kickoff of overtime in the Jets' 16-13 loss Sunday when teammate Marques Murrell knocked Fine's helmet off and appeared to strike him in an eye. Ihedigbo then took a swing at Fine,was assessed a personal foul penalty and ejected. Murrell wasn't penalized.
