The Seattle Seahawks placed Carpenter on the season-ending reserve/non-football illness list.||||||| Carpenter returned from a serious knee injury last season and started seven games for the Seahawks at left guard. But he left early in Sunday's win over Chicago after experiencing what Pete Carroll called a sharp pain in his surgically repaired knee. Seattle signed offensive lineman Rishaw Johnson from the practice squad.

Carpenter is just happy to be back practicing. The Seattle Seahawks' guard has been cleared to return to practice and was back at work this week as he gets re-acclimated to playing football again after a devastating knee injury in practice ended his rookie season.||||||| Carpenter was injured during a relatively benign blocking drill during a practice in mid-November. Carpenter has made strides in his recovery midway through training camp and surprised everyone, including coach Pete Carroll, by being activated for the start of the regular season.

Carpenter is done for the season with a torn ACL.||||||| Carpenter, the former Alabama player drafted 25th overall this year, started nine games this season - eight at right tackle and one at left guard. He was hurt last week in practice.

The Seattle Seahawks have reached a deal with first-round pick James Carpenter, who was taken 25th overall in the April draft. The team announced Carpenter's deal on Friday morning.||||||| Carpenter is projected to be Seattle's starting right tackle after being selected out of Alabama. Seattle now has eight of nine draft picks signed, the lone remaining unsigned pick being third-round selection John Moffitt.
