Williams from Denver to replace Brian Urlacher. Anderson was released earlier this month. He figures to take over at strong side for Nick Roach, who signed with Oakland. The only returning starting linebacker for Chicago is perennial Pro Bowler Lance Briggs on the weak side.

The agent for Anderson says his client has been informed that he's been released by the team.||||||| Anderson had three years left on a five-year, $22 million contract. Anderson has spent all six NFL seasons with the Panthers, starting 43 games over the past three years at strong side linebacker. He started 12 games last year and had 73 tackles but no sacks or interceptions.
