Anderson was Atlanta's first-round pick in 2007 and played four seasons for the Falcons before moving to the Colts after the 2010 campaign. He started one game for Indianapolis and recorded three sacks.
The Atlanta Falcons have released defensive end Jamaal Anderson and receiver Michael Jenkins. The Falcons announced the moves Friday, the opening day of training camp. By cutting the former first-round draft picks, the team clears $7.8 million under the salary cap.|||||||
Anderson was the eighth overall pick by Atlanta in 2007 but never developed into a pass-rushing force. He had only 3.5 sacks in four seasons.

The No. 8 pick overall, Anderson is being counted on to step right in at left end for longtime stalwart Patrick Kerney, who voided his contract and signed a lucrative deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
