Coach Jeff Fisher said Thursday at a news conference to introduce Jared Cook that Long was still in town a day after interviewing with the team.
Long was placed on injured reserve Tuesday by the Miami Dolphins because of a left triceps injury, ending his season and perhaps his tenure with the team.|||||||
The perennial Pro Bowl pick and No. 1 overall choice in the 2008 draft was hurt in Sunday's loss to New England. Long might have played his final game for Miami because he can become an unrestricted free agent this winter. Long would receive $15.4 million next year if the Dolphins give him a franchise tag, and that's likely more than Miami will be willing to spend. He has battled injuries for much of his career and had a disappointing season.
Long was limited in practice Wednesday because of a right knee injury he suffered last week.|||||||

Long left practice Monday after hurting his right knee when he went down in a pile on a pass play. An MRI exam showed the injury wasn't serious, said a person familiar with the diagnosis, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Dolphins didn't comment on the injury.|||||||
Back trouble slowed Long last season, and he went on injured reserve before the final game because of a torn right biceps. He nonetheless was chosen a Pro Bowl starter at left tackle for the third consecutive year. Although Long has missed only two games in four NFL seasons, he has dealt with knee trouble in the past and wore a brace on his right knee Monday. Any absence would be especially worrisome with rookie Ryan Tannehill under center.
Long has been placed on injured reserve with a right arm injury, meaning he'll miss the team's final game Sunday against the New York Jets.|||||||

He endured an injury-plagued season, including a back ailment that forced him to miss two games after he started the first 61 games of his career.
