Jones is the newest contestant to join TV's "Dancing With the Stars."|||||||
Jones was the first contestant announced Sunday night for the show's new season. The announcement came during a commercial that aired during ABC's telecast of the Academy Awards. The other new contestants will be announced Tuesday on "Good Morning America." The show premieres March 18. Jones is known for his dance moves in the end zone after a touchdown. Three other NFL players have won the competition: Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward and Donald Driver.
Jones was named AFC special teams player of the week after tying an NFL record with a 108-yard kickoff return in Baltimore's 31-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys.|||||||
Houston released Jones in May. He played five years with the Texans, but fell out of favor after fumbling twice in a Texans' 20-13 playoff loss to Baltimore. Jones promptly signed with the Ravens. He's returned three kickoffs for 159 yards, has 72 yards on eight punt returns and has 11 receptions for 185 yards and a touchdown.

The return tied the mark set by Ellis Hobbs of New England against the New York Jets in 2007 and matched in 2011 by Randall Cobb of Green Bay against New Orleans. The Ravens' record for a kickoff return was 103 yards by David Reed against Houston in 2010.
Former Houston Texans wide receiver Jacoby Jones has agreed to terms with the Baltimore Ravens on a two-year contract. Jones was cut by the Texans last week. He caught 31 passes for 512 yards and two touchdowns last season, but also fumbled twice in Houston's playoff loss to the Ravens.|||||||
The 27-year-old Jones gives depth to Baltimore's group of receivers. The Ravens have two established starters in Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith, but have no proven option at the third receiver spot. Jones has 127 catches for 1,741 yards and 11 touchdowns over five NFL seasons, all of them with the Texans. Jones also provides an option to cornerback Lardarius Webb as a punt returner. Jones has three career punt returns for touchdowns and averages 23.3 yards on kickoffs
The Texans have waived Jones after five seasons.|||||||
The 6-foot-2, 212-pound Jones caught only 31 passes for 512 yards last season, while star receiver Andre Johnson spent much of the year recovering from injuries. The Texans drafted Ohio State receiver DeVier Posey in the third round and Michigan State's Keshawn Martin in the fourth, making Jones expendable.
