Coach Mike Smith says Thursday that Douglas suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in a drill on Wednesday and will miss the season. Douglas, a 2008 third-round pick from Louisville, had 23 catches for 320 yards in his rookie season.
The Atlanta Falcons are awaiting a medical report on Douglas after the he left Wednesday's practice with an apparent leg injury. After catching a pass, Douglas fell and grabbed his left leg. He tried to stand with help from teammate Michael Jenkins before again falling to the ground. He was driven off the field on a cart. Douglas was working with the first team offense while top receiver Roddy White is holding out for a new contract.|||||||

Douglas scored the first two TDs of his career - the second on a 61-yard punt return - and the Falcons romped to a 45-28 win over the Panthers to move within a game of the division lead.|||||||
Douglas also scored a rushing touchdown and had 92 yards receiving, his second 90-plus yard receiving effort this season. The rookie is becoming a major threat in the Falcons' offense, though he's not really worth playing at receiver just yet in a fantasy league.
