Salas was signed by the Patriots from the practice squad on Nov. 17 and played as a reserve last Sunday against Indianapolis. He was originally acquired by New England in a trade with St. Louis in September, was released a few weeks later and signed to the practice squad on Sept. 20.

Salas, 24, was drafted by St. Louis in the 2011 fourth round out of Hawaii, and New England surrendered an undisclosed draft pick for him. He played in six games for the Rams last season, finishing with 27 receptions for 269 yards.
Salas, a rookie who leads the team with 27 receptions, will miss the rest of the season with a broken right leg that will require surgery.|||||||
