The Indianapolis Colts have agreed in principle to a contract with Cherilus. A person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press that Cherilus was heading to Indianapolis on Tuesday night to take a physical, speaking on condition of anonymity because the contract had not yet been signed.|||||||
The addition of Cherilus, a 6-foot-7, 325-pound right tackle fills a major need on the offensive line for the Colts. Indy went into free agency roughly $40 million under the salary cap looking first to firm up an offensive line that allowed Andrew Luck to be sacked 41 times and get hit dozens more. Cherilus was Detroit's first-round draft pick in 2008 and played every snap except one last season at right tackle for the Lions.
Cherilus is done for the season with a knee injury.|||||||
