McRath will have season-ending surgery to repair a partially torn patella tendon in his left knee.||||||| The three-year veteran tried to play through the injury in during training camp, but coach Mike Munchak said Sunday that McRath had decided to have the surgery.

McRath has been carted off the sideline after hurting his left knee while covering a kickoff in the first quarter against the New Orleans Saints.||||||| McRath was flagged for holding on the play and immediately grabbed at his left knee while laying on the field. Trainers helped him on the field, and McRath was able to slowly limp to the sideline. But he was helped onto a cart and taken to the locker room.

The Tennessee Titans have released linebacker Jamie Winborn to make roster space for McRath.||||||| McRath missed the first four games while serving his suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances. McRath is expected to return to his outside spot in the first-team defense when the Titans (2-2) visit Dallas (1-2) on Sunday.

The Tennessee Titans have suspended McRath without pay for the first four games of the upcoming season for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing drugs.||||||| The Titans released a statement confirming the suspension near the end of Monday's minicamp session. McRath's suspension starts Sept. 4, and he cannot return to the roster until Oct. 4. McRath started five games at outside linebacker as a rookie in 2009. He has been working at that spot all offseason and is a strong candidate to earn the job this season.
