New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis says Hartley has agreed to a new five-year contract with the club Thursday.||||||| Hartley, one of the heroes of the Saints' 2009-10 Super Bowl title run, was briefly benched last season after several short-range misses, but finished 20 of 25 on field goals.

Hartley doesn't try to portray his two-week benching as some kind of lesson that might help him in the long run. Hartley says he's just glad to be the New Orleans Saints' primary kicker again and that he's focused on starting fresh while doing everything he can to ensure he doesn't get benched again.||||||| The 24-year-old Hartley heads into Sunday's game at Tampa Bay having missed three of his seven field goal attempts this season. The third miss came in overtime against Atlanta and cost the Saints a victory in Week 3. Hartley missed a key FG last time against Tampa Bay so that bitter memory could affect him Sunday at the 'Big Sombrero.'

Saints coach Sean Payton says he has not decided whether to bring in other kickers to compete with the struggling Hartley in practice this week.||||||| Hartley missed a 29-yard field goal that would have beaten the Falcons in overtime Sunday, hooking the ball left. It was Hartley's third miss in seven attempts. His winner in the final seconds against San Francisco was tipped, too. Payton says he doesn't want to make a rash decision, adding that New Orleans' problems went beyond Hartley's miss.
