Rucker has agreed to a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.||||||| Rucker started all 16 games with the Cleveland Browns last season, with four sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defensed. His 48 tackles were third-most on the team. Rucker joined the Browns last season after six years with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was a third-round draft pick of the Bengals out of Southern California in 2006.

The Browns have released Frostee Rucker after one season. A top free-agent signing by Cleveland last year, the defensive end is the first casualty of the team switching from a 4-3 to multi-front defensive scheme under first-year coach Rob Chudzinski. Rucker was due to make $2.5 million next season.||||||| Rucker made $6 million last season, when he started all 16 games and finished with 48 tackles and four sacks. Last week, Chudzinski and new defensive coordinator Ray Horton, who spent the past two seasons with Arizona, said the Browns hope to have an aggressive defense next season. Apparently, the 6-foot-3, 280-pound Rucker did not fit into their plans.

The Cleveland Browns have officially signed free agent defensive end Frostee Rucker, swiping him from the rival Cincinnati Bengals. Rucker agreed to terms on a five-year, $21 million contract Wednesday and signed his deal Thursday after passing a physical. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported the deal includes $8 million guaranteed.||||||| Rucker had his best season with Cincinnati in 2011, recording a career-high four sacks in 11 starts. He appeared in all 16 games in helping the Bengals make the AFC playoffs. Browns general manager Tom Heckert says Rucker is a player the team targeted in free agency. Heckert says he's excited to about adding Rucker to a young defensive front with end Jabaal Sheard and tackles Ahtyba Rubin and Phil Taylor. The Bengals drafted Rucker in the third round in 2006.

The Bengals put Rucker on the injured reserve list Monday, another setback to a depleted defense.||||||| Rucker suffered a knee injury in Cincinnati's 23-17 loss to Indianapolis on Nov. 14 and was inactive against the Bills on Sunday.
